Perched on Queens Wharf, Wellington’s playful WELL_NGTON Sign has quickly become one of the city’s favourite photo stops. Unveiled in 2022, this interactive public artwork was commissioned by WellingtonNZ and created by Australian and New Zealand art collective The Glue Society, led by artist and project director Pete Baker. With the missing “I” inviting visitors to step in and become part of the sculpture, it perfectly captures Wellington’s creative, welcoming, and slightly quirky spirit.
