Butterflies and hydrangeas

Butterflies and Hydrangeas is part of my botanical series, where I explore the quiet relationships between light, memory, and the natural world. Using the power of the sun, I directly expose flora from my garden to create an organic foundation, an imprint of time and place.

From there, I build the surface through layers of encaustic medium infused with ink, pigments, and fragments of my own photographic imagery. This process allows elements to emerge, recede, and coexist, much like the rhythms of nature itself.
